The Korean brand Samsung enjoys a good reputation in the market of tablets and of course, smartphones. When they decided to tackle the entry and mid-range market, offering attractive prices for the occasional users of this high-tech tool, seeing outright novices, curiosity and envy were indeed at the rendezvous -you.

So what about the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7?

Two models are available:

Yes, two models of Galaxy Tab A that of 8 and 9.7 inches. We instinctively turned to the screen size getting closest to the 10 inches. One is immediately seduced by its modern design, which reminds some of the IPad. But when you know that Samsung tries to compete with Apple in Asia (Apple is a leader there too now!), we understand why we sometimes find some similarities, especially in the buttons.

White and beautiful:

The design of Galaxy Tab A is well worked and closer to the Galaxy Tab S. On the right edge, the power and volume buttons, the location for a microSD card. Below, the micro USB port to charge it or connect it to a computer, as well as a headphone jack. Nothing revolutionary and for the owners of a smartphone, one swims in territory well known. So certainly it’s plastic and not aluminum, but we really have solid in our hands. For the most awkward or those who do not like protective shells, this allows manipulating the tablet without fear to break it in two.

Let’s say it right away, we are a little disappointed by the resolution of the screen: 1024 x 768 px. It’s low, too low, compared to the choice of Samsung to position the tablet Galaxy Tab A in the average range and not in average range.

The performances are fortunately there to catch this little flat! The 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal memory, and a processor 4 hearts clocked with 1.2 GHz easily turn the tablet. No slowdowns observed in games, nor in browsing the Internet with several tabs open.

For storage, it is much better than usual for entry-level tablets, but if you want to store some movies and music, you are strongly advised to buy a memory card. The internal memory will indeed be devoted to your applications and other games. You can go up to 128GB with a microSD card!

The strength of the Galaxy Tab A: a long battery life

One of its strengths is its autonomy: a full charge lasts about 12 hours (it can climb to more than 15h depending on the use), it is enough to hold two days without having to worry about a ” Constantly take his shipper.

The standby tablet consumes only a few percent, with background syncs, in short, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A has a great energy saver. It makes you want to take it everywhere with you, without fear that it will let go!

Features and Applications

The tablet Galaxy Tab A 9.7 is rather stalled to offer us various multimedia contents and make it work. The OS is Android Lollipop, perfect for the regulars of Android systems and the Samsung TouchWiz interface is very pleasant to use.

The multi-tasking and multi-windows mode turn very well, it’s very handy, especially when you’re used to doing several things at the same time. On the applications side, the Samsung tablet offers premium trial versions of several well-known and useful apps like Evernote (to take notes, create documents, share and do many other interesting things) other apps less useful, that you will be very easy to uninstall.

A tablet that gives pride of place to multimedia

Speaking of games, you will be able to indulge yourself on this side also, although, average range obliges, one can find some drops in the graphics. No fluidity, no worries encountered and the tablet does not heat, even with Play store games a little greedy resources.

On the sound side, we finally have a headphone output that is worth the detour! As for the two loudspeakers integrated on the bottom edge of the Galaxy Tab A, they are passable, or annoying when held in landscape mode. This is nevertheless suitable. This is also the word for the camera, 5 million pixels at the back and 2 at the front, colors and light will, unfortunately, remain dull. Well to troubleshoot but not to make it a digital camera.
