Is it the extra base for a deep punchy sound that you are looking for? Bluetooth headphones now offer high-quality sound, thanks to the optimization of this wireless connection in recent years. Is your headset not suitable for your smartphone or tablet? What to do? Well, just replace them with a real helmet! And if you do not want to have a wire to the paw, choose a wireless model.

Thanks to Bluetooth, they connect to most mobile devices on the market and even to your laptops. In addition, some Bluetooth models have buttons for controlling volume and playback or making a phone call. Unlike wired remote controls, Bluetooth technology allows you to use commands in any system (Android, iOS, Windows Phone, Windows, Mac OS X …).

Circum Aural Or Supra Aural?

In the wide range of models, one of the most important criteria concerns the types of earphones: circum aural or supra aural. The supra aural headphones are less cumbersome because the headphones are smaller. Consequently, the ear cups rest on the ear, which is sometimes less comfortable and less insulating than the circum aural headphone models, the ear pads of which surround the ear.

To further isolate noise, some manufacturers incorporate an active noise reduction system into their helmets, which is often effective and appreciable when using transport such as a train, plane or subway.

Attention To Autonomy

Both noise reduction and Bluetooth transmission require a power supply. The headphones, therefore, carry a rechargeable battery, usually via a USB cable. It is, therefore, necessary to take account of the autonomy if one wishes to use the helmet for long hours. Fortunately, many models reach or even exceed 20 hours of continuous use. Here is the classification of the 10 best Bluetooth wireless models:

  1. Samsung Level On Wireless

This supra-aural headset features earphones slightly larger than normal to encompass most ears. We are well insulated and the comfort is better.

To go for a walk and to enjoy 30 hours of music non-stop, without being hindered by parasitic noises, Level on Wireless is a good companion thanks to its satisfactory noise reducer. We also liked the touch control panel placed on the right earpiece.

  1. Audio-Technica ATH-SR5BT

Affordable, lightweight and comfortable, the Audio-Technica helmet stands out above all for its record self-sufficiency, which exceeds 50 hours.

If it is pleasant to wear, we advise against the lovers of big basses. For the others, it will be enough to make a correction with the equalizer of the mobile device to obtain a pleasant sound.

  1. Noonec – Zoro II wireless

The Zoro II wireless is positioned as the serious competitor of the Solo2 Wireless of Beats. Styled, it offers good sound quality and especially excellent endurance (more than 40 hours).

Its only weak point is its lack of insulation of the external noises, which can constitute an advantage (one hears a car arrive) or a disadvantage (it is necessary to raise the volume to cover the noises) when used outdoors.

  1. Bowers & Wilkins – P7 Wireless

This wireless headset from Bowers & Wilkins is in line with the manufacturer’s high-end products. The construction is neat and the sound quality is excellent, as well as the power (more than 19 hours according to our measurements).

Good assets to compete with the Momentum Wireless of Sennheiser, even if the latter remains a little more comfortable.

  1. Sennheiser – Urbanite XL Wireless

Of course, the Urbanite XL Wireless does not match the Momentum Wireless for comfort or sound quality, but one enjoys a high power: 33 hours of operation between two Full loads. The sound is rather pleasant, especially for listening to music that emphasizes the bass.

We appreciated the well-designed touch controls and, for wired use, the remote control with its volume slider compatible Android and iOS.

  1. Parrot – Zik 3

Helmet technology, the Parrot Zik, version after version, is constantly improving. The endurance of Opus 3 is up (almost 7 hours), the noise reduction now works without the app, as does the “Street” mode (noises of the environment slightly audible), now activated by default during the communications.

It only remains to tame sound imperfections to satisfy the demands of purists, and the Zik can claim perfection.

  1. Sony – MDR-1000X

The MDR-1000X is a good quality headset that offers high autonomy (more than 24 hours) and especially an ambient noise reduction system very well designed for use in a supportive environment, especially in transport.

Its function of listening from the outside is a more appreciable, as well as its wide choice of codecs. It justifies the price but we would have liked more treble and details in the sound.

  1. Plantronics – BackBeat Pro

The Plantronics headset delivers powerful, detailed and high-quality Bluetooth and wired capabilities. In addition, its battery holds it for more than 34 hours. Its large circum-aural headphones (including the ears) are good sizes, well-padded and do not unnecessarily support the bones of the skull.

Its active noise reduction fulfills its task well and a practical function allows to hear the outside world without removing the headphones.

  1. Bose – QuietComfort 35

With this headset, Bose combines wireless and active noise reduction, a technology that the manufacturer perfectly knows but is not as well exploited here as on its wired models.

Nevertheless, this function is effective and QuietComfort 35 combines the good points: sober design, excellent autonomy (21 h 50 according to our tests), and its detailed and exceptional comfort. The fact remains that Bose is paying its know-how at a high price for this high-end model.

  1. Sennheiser – Momentum Wireless

The wireless version of the Momentum from Sennheiser takes back the elements that seduced us on the wired version. Mainly made of leather and metal, this helmet is first of all beautiful and solid. In addition, the headphones can be folded to facilitate transport in the supplied cover.

Then the helmet is comfortable to wear and enjoys 20 hours of autonomy. It benefits from more than one particularly effective noise reduction mode. Finally, the sound quality is excellent with a good balance between bass, midrange, and treble. An excellent model so reserved, however for the most worn portfolios. Looking for more?
