Difficult to find yourself in the plethora of laptops available, especially on the high-end segment where every detail counts. We offer you our selection to be sure not to be mistaken.

It is always difficult to choose a new laptop. PC or Mac, processor, consumption, battery, finishing, RAM, graphics card dedicated or not. So many parameters that can quickly make the research tedious, without ever having the certainty of having made the right choice. To find your way, we offer you a selection of the best laptops of the moment. At the end of 2016, newcomers redistribute the cards.

  • The HP Specter 13 version 2016 is necessary and Apple’s proposal becomes an alternative.
  • More consensual, the ThinkPad will talk to pragmatists while Asus will seduce for its finesse/weight / performance ratio clearly impressive.
  • The MacBook Air 13 is a tough choice and is an option to consider for its “quality/price ratio”.
  • Acer delivers a well-placed price-priced machine and Lenovo always offers the best machine in this price segment.

More than specialized computers for this or that use, here we offer a selection of high-end computers that are versatile and suitable for most applications. With which you can play games that are moderately greedy, make photo editing or video editing from time to time and of course, all the “classic” uses of a computer such as navigation and word processing. All while maintaining a small footprint and a decent battery life.

 HP Specter 13

With the presence of Core i5 or i7 processors where competition is satisfied with small Core M, the new HP Specter 13 does not sacrifice performance on the design altar. Beautiful design and very thin, it is assuredly delivering a perceived premium quality.

Nothing to repeat is synonymous rated display with a splendid IPS Full HD panel of 13 inches. Without being exceptional, the autonomy seemed good with more than 7 hours of streaming video playback. Finally, the only downside that we could bring is on the connector side with 3 USB-C ports.

  • MacBook Pro 13 inch with Touch Bar

This MacBook Pro 2016 is characterized by remarkable compactness combined with balanced power and user experience. However, this 2016 vintage will certainly not be unanimous. Probably as clever and visionary as the first MacBook Air of 2008, this machine that delights the classic USB and the memory card reader is still very comfortable to use.

The Touch Bar streamlines operations, the touchpad is spacious and the Touch ID biometric system is relevant. Hard not to appreciate this machine of heart and perennial that will be adorned for the future.

  • Lenovo Yoga 910

The Lenovo Yoga 910 is an excellent portable PC hybrid, probably one of the best on the market currently. Its sober and elegant design is very engaging and its touch screen 13.9 inches almost without borders is magnificent.

This notebook also intends to shine on key points, with sufficient performance to handle all intensive tasks, except demanding video games and especially a very good autonomy which approaches the 10 hours in current use. It gives full satisfaction both in tablet mode and in laptop mode it will, however, accept a badly placed webcam, at the bottom of the screen and the absence of memory card reader. A compromise to make for this 14-inch only 1.38 kg.

  • Asus Zenbook 3

For those who dream of the portability and simplicity of the MacBook 12-inch Apple, but in Windows version and with more power to do anything but word processing, the ZenBook 3 is the best option. The integration of a Core i7 processor in such a thin chassis is performance-intensive and deserves to make Apple think about the segmentation it imposes on its machines.

Processor faster, but battery life is significantly less important than Apple which keeps the advantage on this point. The ZenBook 3 also shares the defects of the MacBook, a keyboard whose keys have a very low profile and poor connectivity that boils down to a single USB-C port and a headphone jack. The compromises to accept for a machine of 910 g and 12 mm thick and that does not ignore the performance.

  • Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga

Still, against a segment that intends to differentiate itself by a sexy design, the latest ThinkPad made in “seriousness” and relies on the fundamentals to impose itself. Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga X1 has a robust design, high-end components, a solid autonomy (especially when considering the energetic greediness of OLED displays) and a simply brilliant keyboard.

The OLED screen is a treat for video, photo editing and other tasks that require the best possible display quality. So yes, it is expensive but well worth the price.

  • Acer Aspire S13

Many such fine laptops are not warlike fouls. Many powerful notebook PCs do not have very good battery life. The number of laptops at this price is reduced to RAM and storage. And models that avoid these pitfalls usually offer a smooth metal finish and glass that makes them real fingerprint magnets.

The Aspire S13 does not suffer from any of these defects. With 1.3 kg on the balance and 14.6 mm thick, an Intel Core i5 dual-core 2.3 GHz, 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB of SSD and a touch screen of 1.920×1.080 pixels is as fine, fast and comfortable as its rivals. And the autonomy of the S13 is even better than most of them. However, with an uneven keyboard backlighting, a wide screen border while the trend is almost disappearing, the Aspire S13 is not necessarily the most exciting of laptops, but it remains a remarkably practical option And affordable.

  • Apple MacBook Air 13inch

This selection could not be done without MacBook Air, Apple’s computer, in its 13-inch version, the main argument is its autonomy up to 12h. We still regret the definition of the screen limited to 1440 x 900, there is an 11-inch model, but the autonomy suffers and the screen proves slightly too small for prolonged use.

Tip, think of opting for 8 GB of RAM when buying to have a machine a little more perennial (which also applies to the other models of the selection).
