Viruses became very common in the late 1980s and early 1990s. And it was also during this period that the first antivirus software became available, such as John McAfee’s VirusScan and Ross Greenberg’s FluShot Plus. As mentioned earlier, another that appeared in 1991 is Norton Antivirus. All these programs at the time were very basic, intended to get rid of the most common viruses. Some of these viruses would steal hard disk space (it still exists on even larger scales), steal time from the CPU, access private information, corrupted data and more. Viruses today always do the same, but in even more enormous proportions.

Viruses have developed over the years and have expanded to include spyware, adware, trojans, ransomware, and … oh so much more. The goal of these viruses has not changed since their creation in the pre-Internet era. The goal is always to steal private information, steal identities, corrupt data, and other harmful things. Only, they have become much more sophisticated, and as a result, antivirus software has also become much more sophisticated.

A good antivirus must evolve and adapt constantly to deal with the new threats of the Internet, which do not stop infecting the PCs – indeed, in the first 9 months of 2015, Kaspersky was able to identify 19.9 million new threats (malicious files) and remember that some people do not even have anti-virus installed on their computer! They think that if they blunder what they click on, everything will be fine and the computer will not be infected – this is no longer the case since the creators of malicious software and files are becoming more and cleverer. We present our choices of anti-virus software! (And, incidentally, software that is not up to par!).

  • Kaspersky Antivirus 2017

Kaspersky Lab. Designs some of the best antivirus products on the market, providing comprehensive protection against malware that threatens a PC. All three of these Windows programs – Kaspersky Anti-Virus, Kaspersky Internet Security and Kaspersky Total Security – share an excellent malware scanning tool and an intuitive user interface, and all provide the same moderate performance impact on a computer.

The choice of software to purchase, if any, depends on your needs and budget. If you have children at home, you would like to have parental control provided by Kaspersky Internet Security. If you do not already have an administrator password or backup software, you should opt for Kaspersky Total Security. If you have only one machine to protect, Kaspersky Anti-Virus is for you.

Kaspersky AntiVirus 2017 is the latest version of the excellent and very reliable antivirus engine of Kaspersky. It provides very good real-time protection against malicious files, email attachments, web scripts, instant message content, and more. The icons on your search engine alert you to dangerous sites, a vulnerability scanner highlights holes in security, and there is also strong anti-phishing protection.

This version adds a whole new level of protection against Cryptolocker malware. The Kaspersky System Watcher looks for suspicious programs that try to modify the user’s files, and backs up the originals immediately. If the rest discovers that the changes, the malware will be deleted, and you will find the original document.

Performance Antivirus:

The Kaspersky Windows scan tool is meticulous and efficient, and can detect virtually any malware with some false positives. On Windows 7, AV-TEST found that Kaspersky Internet Security detected 100% and 99% of the zero-day exploits during evaluations made in January and February 2016. It stopped 100% of the malware spread over the two months, and no false positives were recorded.

Another laboratory, AV-Comparatives of Austria, made similar findings with cumulative results of five separate evaluations carried out from February to June 2016 on Windows 7. Kaspersky Internet Security stopped 99.7% of real-world malware (mainly from malicious sites). There are many new features, but the great strength of Kaspersky is its very good protection. During the AV-Comparatives protection tests of May 2016, Kaspersky blocked 99.9% of the attacks (and the rest could not even compromise the system).

Kaspersky’s fast and thorough antivirus has built an effective barrier to the family’s computers, and has only a few rivals in other brands known for their excellent protection capabilities. Our recommendations on which to buy are based on the special features to each product.

  • Bitdefender Antivirus 2017

The quality and performance of Bitdefender Antivirus Plus 2017 recently unveiled impressed us. The new 2017 edition shows excellent new features and improvements, and it offers a wide range of options. In addition, these new features make it one of the best antivirus products such as Bitdefender Safepay that will protect your transactions and keep hackers remotely or automatically open all your banking pages online in a separate and secure browser. And with the security gadget that will allow you to track all your security tasks, in addition to allowing you to easily and quickly drag and drop files for a quick virus scan-directly from your desktop.

The interface of Bitdefender 2017 has not changed much compared to that of 2016. There have been some decorative changes such as highlighting with familiar colors of safety, green for protection and red for danger, which makes this edition easy to use with a quick grip.

Protective performance:

AV-Test institutions evaluate antivirus programs on protection, performance and ease of use, assigning up to six points in each category. Bitdefender got 18 points in this three-part test. The AV-Comparatives perform a wide variety of tests, five of which I am very closely. Bitdefender had advanced +, the highest score, in the five tests.

Bitdefender has also achieved great results in my own malware blocking tests. With 93 percent detection being 9.3 out of 10 possible points, his scores beat all other products tested using the same collection of malware.

Bitdefender Antivirus Plus 2017 remains one of the best antivirus on the market for this year. You will be impressed by the Bitdefender which runs with light usage of resources, and strong anti-virus and anti-spyware protection.
