The LG G6 should be unveiled around the next Mobile World Congress to be held in Barcelona from February 27 to March 2, 2017. Will the Korean manufacturer Samsung compete in the way of the modular smartphone? Let’s make the point a few months from the release.

LG G6: modular or not?

The LG G5 was distinguished by the LG Friends, modules that could connect to the smartphone to boost its audio capabilities, endow it with a real photo grip with extended battery, or even connect it to virtual reality glasses. As original as this approach, it seems that it has not achieved the expected success. The Korean site ETNews understands that LG would draw a line on these modules, which also inspired Lenovo for its Moto Z.

On the other hand, the LG G6 would gain in sealing what it would lose in modularity. Like the Galaxy S7 and the iPhone 7, it would be resistant to water.

LG G6: What Features?

LG is part of Qualcomm’s faithful, and it’s a safe bet that the G6 integrates their state-of-the-art processor, which will likely be the Snapdragon 830. Side storage and RAM, remember that the G5 embedded 32 GB of flash storage, and 4 GB of RAM. We can imagine no less, but it is possible that LG aligns on some competitors to propose 64 GB, and why not 6 GB of RAM.

LG had made the decision to return to a more modest screen size, going from 5.5 to 5.3 inches. One would not be surprised to return to 5.5 inches, a size becoming more and more standard on the high end. Will the screen change to 4K? No one knows this but we talk about a resolution QHD, or even 4K, and an OLED technology.

Since Samsung has switched to a scalable design, LG highlights its removable battery. But again, if we talk about a waterproof smartphone, we may wonder if this characteristic will survive.

LG G6: what camera?

LG had equipped the G5 with a dual camera, but for a purpose completely different from that of Huawei or Apple. The quality was there, but the “fisheye” mode of the second sensor has proved itself, or will LG instead offer a lens TV like the iPhone 7 Plus? So would it no different for LG G6? Are you excited for the big release on way?
