Set as a clock, it was just before the CES that Samsung decided to officialize its new mid-range smartphones with a Galaxy A, in 2017. Like last year, the Galaxy A7 is intended only for the countries of the East and Asia.

The broadcasting:

So, it is during this CES 2017 that we were able to take charge of these new Galaxy A and force is to note that Samsung is not mistaken too much with this range. From our first meeting, we noticed how these new Galaxy A are getting closer to the Galaxy S7 with a rather similar design. Which is not to displease us.

There is thus a glass back and a metal frame rounded as for its big brother. Best of all, we have the same IP68 certification. Very good.

A design that reminds many Galaxy S7

The Galaxy A3 features a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 720p resolution, while the Galaxy A5 has a Full HD 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display. Last year, the screens were excellent and this is unlikely to change this year. This is the impression that emerges after our first grip.

As for the processor, it is a SoC Exynos 7880 with eight cores clocked at 1.9 GHz, respectively 16 GB and 32 GB internal memory (expandable via a Micro-SD port), 2 GB and 3 GB RAM, A USB Type-C port, a fingerprint reader, a 3000 mAh battery for the Galaxy A5 and all is installed on Android 6.0.1. It will wait for Android 7.0 Nougat.

The little brother of the Galaxy S7

As for the picture, if the Galaxy A3 offers a 13 Megapixel sensor with an 8 Megapixel Visio camera, the Galaxy A5 offers a 16-megapixel sensor at the rear as well as at the front. Although it may seem sufficient in the absolute, it is essentially in the photo that the difference will be between a Galaxy A and a Galaxy S.

Of course, it is the Galaxy A5 that will interest us the most. In any case, even if the Galaxy A have always been positioned a little more expensive than the competition, it must be recognized that these are excellent smartphones. We will obviously wait to have them in hand to form a final opinion but for now, it is well.
