Samsung introduced a new phone positioned on the mid-range weekend, the famous Galaxy C7 Pro. Far from matching the top-of-the-range terminals on the market, it has plenty of advantages and it has comfortable storage space and it should also obtain very good results on the photographic part.

The Galaxy C7 Pro is elegant and features a brushed aluminum shell, with neat finishes. The antennas, in particular, are quite discrete and thus they consist of three fine tinted lines. Samsung has not sought to reinvent the wheel and the ergonomics of the device is aligned with that of the other terminals of the brand.

Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro: Careful finishes and a more than correct technical sheet

The two volume buttons are placed on the left side and the power button is on the other side to the right. The manufacturer has placed a home button under the screen, with a fingerprint reader. The terminal will be able to identify us thanks to it, but it can also be used with Samsung Pay since the device is compatible with the mobile payment system of the Korean brand.

The USB Type-C connector is located on the bottom edge, not far from the headphone jack. The access door to the SIM card is positioned on the other side and the manufacturer has opted for a hybrid system. It can indeed accommodate, either two SIM cards or a SIM card and a micro SD card.

Its thing is the picture!

The terminal has a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display capable of displaying 1080p and therefore 1920 x 1080. It is powered by a Snapdragon 625 coupled with 4 GB of RAM. The storage space reaches 64 GB and it is extensible, of course.

Samsung has also focused on the photo part and the terminal thus integrates two sensors of 16 million pixels placed at the back and front, sensors crowned with optics opening at f / 1.9. The battery finally reaches a capacity of 3,300 mAh and is compatible with fast charging. The device is 4G compatible and is additionally equipped with an 802.11 ac Wi-Fi chip, a Bluetooth 4.1 chip, and a GPS.

Rumors claimed that Samsung is preparing two terminals to accompany the C9 Pro. One of them, the C7 Pro, has just been formalized in China. However, apart from the hull and webcam, difficult to tell the difference with the original Galaxy C9. The leaks announce the arrival of two new terminals in the range Galaxy C of Samsung: the C5 Pro and C7 Pro.

These are upgraded versions of the Galaxy C5 and C7 released last year. The idea of Samsung would, therefore, be to deploy an intermediate version of the C5 and C7, with the minimum of possible changes to wait until the real renewal that could take place in the middle of 2017.

Chassis and chipset change

As per an institutional visual, with the three Pro models of the Galaxy C range, leaked on Chinese social networks, suggesting that the C5 Pro and C7 Pro could be unveiled very quickly. We were not far from the truth since Samsung officially put online the product sheet of the Galaxy C7 Pro on its local official website.

The smartphone appears as we previously thought. The design of the chassis is identical to that of the C9 Pro (with the three horizontal strips that bar the hull), with the great difference the size of the screen. Here, it measures 5.7 inches, like all terminals with the number “7” (C7, A7, J7, etc.), except the S7 and Note 7, of course.

This slab is super AMOLED and displays images in 1080p, a resolution of 386 pixels per inch. Inside the mobile, we find almost identically the platform of the original C7. There will be only two differences. The first is the chipset: the Snapdragon 625 of the C7 is replaced by the Snapdragon 626. The only major difference between the two components is the Cortex-A53 core frequency, which goes from 2 GHz to 2.2 GHz.

In addition, Bluetooth goes from 4.1 to 4.2 and the Wi-Fi ac switches from dual band to MiMo. The Adreno 506 is always present. Second difference: the webcam. It goes from 8 to 16 megapixels (the objective remains the same, opening at f / 1.9), as the set of mid-range Samsung products from 2017 unveiled so far.

Otherwise, the same as last year

For the rest, we rediscover a relatively homogeneous and interesting technical record, despite a slight stagnation: 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of internal storage (expandable by microSDXC up to 256 GB extra), 3300 mAh battery, dual SIM ( USB 2.0 type-C, LTE connection, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and NFC (with Samsung Pay), front fingerprint reader, 16 megapixel photo sensor with dual-tone flash, Standard autofocus and lens opening to f / 1.9, as well as Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Touchwiz.

All of these elements are stored in an all-metal chassis of 7 mm thickness. The smartphone weighs 172 grams. It will be offered very quickly in three colors: golden, golden pink and a very nice night blue.
